ORDERU Managed Preferred

Move Nameservers to our Cloudflare Account so that we have full control over the domain.

Customer Managed

If the customer insists on managing their domain, we can route them trough Clouflare for SaaS.

Steps

1. Add Customer Domain (e.g. shop.customer.com) as Custom Hostname to orderu.shop

2. Get Provider Access or let the Customer add these Records:

   • TXT _cf-custom-hostname.{shop.customer.com} → {CF Dashboard Value}
   • TXT _acme-challenge.{shop.customer.com} → {CF Dashboard Value}
   • CNAME {shop.customer.com} → {cname}.orderu.shop
   
   

3. Done

Provider Limitations

IONOS

IONOS SSL is not supported as it’s tailored for IONOS Websites and always creates Wildcard Certificates for *.{customer.com} & {customer.com}. To use IONOS you need to remove the provided SSL Certificate if enabled.

Websites

Due to the SSL Limitations the Website Host has to manually provide Certifcates.

Our cases:

• Cloudflare Pages (e.g. Simple Static Site) work automatically
• MaxCluster (e.g. Contao Site), need to manually create Cert (e.g. Let’s Encrypt)

Customer cases:

• IONOS Website WILL NOT WORK
• Other Provider, should probably work (check before Launch)

Apple Pay

Custom Domains have to be verified for Apple Pay.
Do not forget to Register the Domain with Stripe.
